What to do in car crisis situations

In an emergency situation you have to think fast and act even faster, knowing how to handle the situation might be a life-saver. Here are a few dangerous car part-related tips with solutions but bear in mind, keeping peaceful is the only method of achieving positive results:

Your child or pet is locked in the car interior and you can’t get in, you’re attempting to pry the door window open and it isn’t happening, then you must break the glass. Smash the window that is furthest away from your child and important consumables by asking someone for a jagged tool like a screw driver and if no one is around to lend a tool, try using a rock with a sharp edge.

Driving in thick fog, use your fog lighting, turn on the wipers and get the defroster going.  Keep the headlights on low-beam and don’t use your high beams since the power of that light will only reflect back on you and cut down on visibility. Get those hazard lights on so that other drivers can see you. Open your window, turn off your music and listen for approaching cars or motorcycles etc. You must never stop in the road.

Your brakes have stopped working; try shifting your car body into a lower gear if you have an automatic; downshift if your car is manual. Next, apply the emergency brake; steer to the side of the road where it is safer, then turn off the engine.

What you do with a tyre blowout, don’t step on the brakes! Take your foot off the throttle, and then steer the car onto the side of the road where it is safer, turn on your hazard lights. If you are in a safe spot then you can change the tyre wheel arch, then get on the cell phone and call for help. It is a good idea to learn how to change a tyre.

If your car suddenly accelerates, apply your brake discs as firmly as you can, never once lifting your foot off the pedal; shift to neutral, then carefully steer the car to the side of the road. Turn off the engine, and then shift into park.

If you have a fire then you need to act quickly and get the car onto the side of a road. Switch of the engine and get everyone out of the car and as far away from it as possible. Don't try being a hero by trying to put out the fire yourself, keep in mind that the fuel tank might blow. Call 999 and leave the blazes to the experts!
